"Maize” is an emailed reading that utilizes corn kernels prepared through specific ritual and prayer to help gain insights into the past, present, and future. How It Works: This practice involves casting the kernels in a controlled manner, then interpreting their positions, colors, and relationships to each other based on a pre-established symbolic system rooted in ancient Mesoamerican traditions. Maize Divination History: Maize Divination played a crucial role in the Mexica community. Fostering their connection with the divine, securing agricultural success, and shaping individual and collective decisions. Diviners, often priests or elders, explored the interwoven meanings between gods and specific days in the tonalpohualli, a 260-day calendar used by several Mesoamerican cultures. Sadly, colonization wiped out much of maize divination’s history, with the destruction of sacred texts and knowledge repositories. The remaining written records, stemming from colonizer rhetoric, lack cultural understanding. This suppression forced Mesoamerican communities to rely on oral tradition, making intricate details of Maize Divination traditions difficult to document and sustain. FOR READINGS & HEALINGS: Refunds will only be issued if cancellation is requested within 24 hours of booking. Rescheduling can be done up to 48 hours prior to original booking time. FOR CLASSES: Refunds will only be issued if a cancellation request is submitted at least 72 hours (3 days) prior to the scheduled class. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made within 72 hours (3 days) of the class.
